Questor's Whaler

The Questor's Whaler is a motorboat stored in one of the hulls of the Questor Catamaran.

History[]

When the Questor is damaged by what appears to be ghost pirates, Jonny takes the whaler to get help. The motorboat hits rocks in shallow water and begins to take on water. Jonny eventually needs to abandon it.^[1]

When Dr. Quest's mini-chopper goes down while surveying an area of the ocean, Hadji takes out the whaler to save him. Later, Vladimire Oistrakh takes the whaler to escape the Questor; Race and Jonny chase him in a jetski, but Oistrakh gets away. Race reveals that he installed homing beacons on the whaler earlier, anticipating that this might happen.^[2]

Jonny, Hadji, and Jessie use the whaler to go parasailing. After Jonny disconnects his parasail to help a whale escape a net, Jessie tethers herself to the whaler to swim out and get Jonny, and Hadji pulls them both back in. Later, Hadji and Dr. Quest take the whaler out to listen to whale and dolphin sounds. They lower a microphone through the bottom of the whaler to listen to a pod of dolphins. Hadji hears the dolphins making unusual sounds, which unknown to the Quest Team at the time is caused by Dr. Surd manipulating cetacean behavior. The dolphins begin attacking the whaler, and one strikes it so hard that it begins to take on water. Hadji and Dr. Quest take the whaler to shore.^[3]
