Other Space is the sixteenth episode of the second season of The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, and the forty-second overall.
Premise[]
When scientists open a portal, beings from another dimension begin coming through and laying claim to the Earth.
Synopsis[]
Colonel William Marcus takes the Quest Team to a secret research facility. They're greeted by Professor Diana Cruz, who shares a kiss with Race. She and her assistant Dr. Ken Otsuki have successfully opened a portal to another dimension. They widen the portal to bring their probe back through to go over the data with Dr. Quest. As they do so, three beings of energy come through the portal.
The beings begin constructing something, and they don't respond when Professor Cruz tries to communicate. The Colonel touches one of them and is thrown back by an energy blast from the contact. More entities come through. Dr. Quest begins messing with one of their devices, but the entities surround him with an energy sphere prison and send him back through the vortex into the other dimension. Cruz checks the security cameras and they realize that these entities are turning the earth into their a world like their own. The Colonel takes Dr. Otsuki to the generator at gunpoint. After stopping Jonny from going through the vortex after Dr. Quest, he asks Professor Cruz where the others went, and she says she saw them head toward the generator. Race realizes that this means the Colonel is going to blow the generator to stop the entities and kill them all, and he tells them all to get out. He and Professor Cruz head toward the generator. But Jonny, Jessie, and Hadji later return with hoverboards, and Jessie and Jonny go through the vortex after Dr. Quest.
In the other dimension, Jonny uses his Quest wristwatch to track Dr. Quest's watch. Meanwhile, in the generator room, the Colonel forces Dr. Otsuki to rewire the generator to explode. Race and Professor Cruz try to stop them, and Race and the Colonel fight. The Colonel succeeds in starting the countdown to the explosion. Meanwhile, Jessie and Jonny free Dr. Quest, who sets the scientists' probe to self-destruct, and they return through the vortex. Dr. Quest tells everyone to get away from the facility while he stays behind. He pulls up a forcefields around the research facility and a second one around himself. The forcefield contains most of the explosion, and the second forcefield protects Dr. Quest. Race brings the Quest riverboat back around, and they all head back.
