Neela is the mother of Hadji Singh and a member of the royal family of Bangalore.
Physical appearance[]
Neela has long straight gray hair (raven hair when she gave birth to Hadji). She typically wears an Indian sari and sandals.
History[]
Neela was married to Haresh, and was his sultana (equivalent to a queen consort or empress consort). She gave birth to her husband's heir, a son they would named Hadji, meaning "pilgrimage" .Their son Hadji was kidnapped when he was a small boy by Pasha Peddler, on orders of Haresh's brother (and Hadji's uncle) Deepak. Despite Deepak ordering Pasha to kill the child, Pasha raised him. This was unknown to Neela and Haresh.
Haresh died shortly after Hadji's abduction, and Deepak took to the throne. He was killed a few years later by his own son, Vikram, who took the throne after him.
Neela was later reunited with her teenage son Hadji. When Vikram fell into a pit of snakes and died, Hadji was in line to take the throne as sultan and rule Bangalore. Hadji made a new law that women could rule, so his mother could stand in for him as a sultana, while he continued to live with his new family, the Quests.
