The animated film Tom and Jerry: Spy Quest features the original Quest Team and Jade.

The Incredibles[]

The 2004 film The Incredibles has a few similarities to Jonny Quest, including a villain that uses a giant robot spider, and a similar aircraft to transport it. The villains use hovercrafts similar to the ones in The Fraudulent Volcano.

The sequel film, The Incredibles 2, has a few more obvious easter eggs. Dash actually watches the Jonny Quest episode The Robot Spy on TV. When Elastigirl tracks a signal over the city, a building has the Quest logo on it for "Quest Airlines." The family's new home has slanted windows in the style of Dr. Quest's lab on Palm Key.

Director Brad Bird shared that the easter eggs are there because he was a big fan of Jonny Quest as a kid.[1]

Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law[]

Main article: Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law

Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law is a comedic Cartoon Network animated series. The Quest Team appear in several episodes. The show portrays Dr. Quest and Race as being romantic partners and co-parents, and Dr. Quest as not knowing his children very well because he's more focused on his work.

In the premiere episode, 1.01 "Bannon Custody Battle", Race Bannon files for full custody of Jonny and Hadji, so Dr. Benton Quest hires Harvey Birdman to represent him. Harvey talks to the boys to get a sense of the situation, and Jonny mentions seeing Race speaking with Dr. Zin. In court, Race has hired Vulturo to represent him. One of the lizard men (from The Mystery of the Lizard Men) takes the stand and says that from what he saw, Race was with the children the most; a number of other antagonists from the original series take the stand and do the same. After that day in court, Dr. Quest obliviously thinks things went well. The next day, Harvey has Benton take the stand, but Benton goes on a tangent about how much he's devoted to his work. Vulturo questions Benton to expose that he doesn't spend enough time with the boys. As Vulturo questions Race, Benton tells Harvey that it doesn't seem like Race, and Harvey follows a cord and ends up unplugging Race, who is actually a robot that's replaced the real Race. Harvey reveals the stenographer is actually Dr. Zin in disguise, and Zin is behind the robot replacement. Dr. Quest later gets the real Race on a video call, saying he forgot he was on vacation. Bandit barks, and Harvey's blue eagle Avenger picks him up (like prey) and carries him off. Everyone laughs.

In episode 3.09 "Return of Birdgirl", Race Bannon and Dr. Quest hire Harvey to help them get married "just as a matter of convenience" so that Race will be covered by Dr. Quest's insurance benefits and so that Race can take care of the boys should something happens to Dr. Quest. Harvey argues the constitutionality of same-sex marriage to the Justices League, and Harvey wins (he thinks). A still-frame sequence in the credits shows Dr. Quest and Race leaving a church together, holding hands, with Race holding a bouquet.

The Venture Bros.[]

Main article: The Venture Bros.

The Venture Bros. is a comedic Cartoon Network animated series. The initial setup of the show is a parody of the Quest Team, and some characters of the Quest Team later appear in the show. While the Quest Team characters are initially referred to by their regular names, the show later had to change their names due to branding concerns.

The the pilot episode "The Terrible Secret of Turtle Bay", the setup of the Venture team is parodied from the Quest team, with several scenes directly mirroring scenes from the Jonny Quest pilot The Mystery of the Lizard Men. The team noticeably all get on a jet, just like the Quest Team are in a jet in the original series opening sequence.

In episode 1.09 "Ice Station - Impossible!", Race Bannon appears. He is fatally wounded on a mission, and the Venture's bodyguard Brock holds his hand while he dies. Race's last words are to tell Jonny he loves him. Brock completes Race's mission.

In episode 2.05 "Twenty Years to Midnight" Jonny Quest appears, referred to as "Mr. Quest". He appears to be strung out and paranoid, and freaks out at the mention of his father.

In episode 3.03 "The Invisible Hand of Fate", Race appears in a flashback when he used to work with Brock, but Race is called "Red". Race steps out of a room, covered in blood, with a man tied to a chair behind him in the room, suggesting that Race has been torturing him for information.

In episode 3.05 "The Buddy System", Jonny appears but is now called "Action Johnny", and Dr. Zin appears but is called "Dr. Z". Dr. Venture hosts a camp for boy adventurers, and Action Johnny has his own booth; he talks to a crowd and has a breakdown on stage about his issues with his father. Johnny later signs "baby pictures" of himself (his 11-year-old image). When Dean asks for his autograph, Johnny tells him that he can get him out of there because he doesn't need to to "live like this". Dr. Z arrives and tells Johnny to give "Uncle Z" a hug. Johnny breaks down and is taken away, and Dr. Venture tells Dr. Z that Johnny's "been clean for a month" but he's been "downing xanax like they're cheetos".

"Action Johnny" and "Dr. Z" appear in additional episodes.

The Fairly OddParents - Channel Chasers[]

In The Fairly OddParents season 4 episode Channel Chasers, Timmy goes through multiple TV channels and shows. One is called Jonny Hunt, a parody of Jonny Quest. In the episode, Jonny Hunt and his team are in an airboat being chased and shot at by a large scorpion-like robot (similiar to Dr. Zin's robot spy). Only Jonny Hunt is named, but caricatures of all the Quest Team are present, including a masked raccoon as a caricature of Bandit. Timmy arrives in this channel by falling into the airboat. The Hunt team initially thinks Timmy is an enemy and someone points a gun at him. The robotic scorpion hits the airboat and Timmy and the team land on the shore. As the robotic scorpion is about to fire at them, Timmy presses pause on the remote, stopping the scorpion; he then presses erase, and the scorpion disappears. The Dr. Quest figure is impressed and says that they could use a boy like him on their adventure team. Timmy gets excited about being allowed to go on dangerous unsupervised missions, and the Race figure adds, "Not without a really dangerous weapon," and hands him a giant gun. Timmy can't wait to show Cosmo and Wanda and leaves. He pulls the weapon out in his bedroom, and Wanda cautions him about having a dangerous adult weapon.

The episode begins with a flashback to five years earlier to a break-in at Quest Research Laboratories. A security guard's dog Reggie is injured, and after Race defeats the attacking robot (it flees), Dr. Quest saves Reggie. Present day, the Scooby gang is at city hall when the same robot attacks, and the masked superhero Blue Flacon and his superdog Dynomutt help stop the robot. Velma finds the records the robot was seeking: Quest Industries "was a cutting-edge tech firm until it was sold to Crystal Cove's most prominent corporation: Destroido." Blue Falcon breaks into Destroido headquarters as another robot attacks it to get its files, and Blue Falcon realizes Dr. Zin is behind the robot attacks. Zin is after "the Quest-X power source", which he realizes is hidden in Dynomutt. He orders the robot to capture them, but the robot takes Scooby instead of Dynomutt. Back at Destroido Corp, Shaggy questions the owner Mr. E, who tells him that after he purchased Quest Industries, he was never able to locate the Quest-X power source. Dynomutt uses a tracking device and takes the gang to Volcano Island where Zin is holding Blue Falcon and Scooby, and the gang rescues them. They realize Zin is after the Quest-X power source to save his daughter Jenny, who's fused with the robot; Dynomutt charges the robot enough to release her. Zin and Jenny take off with jet packs, and the Scooby gang escapes before the island explodes.
