Jonny Quest is a comic book series written by Joe Casey, with art by Sebastián Piriz, and published by Dynamite Entertainment. A preview issue was released on May 4, 2024 for Free Comic Book Day.[1][2] The first full issue is expected to be released on August 14, 2024,[3] after being delayed from its originally announced July release. The series was first announced on October 12, 2023.[4]

On October 12, 2023, Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery announced the development of multiple new comic book series of existing properties including ThunderCats, The Flintstones, The Powerpuff Girls, Space Ghost, The Wizard of Oz, and Jonny Quest. The series' were planned to begin release in 2024 across multiple formats.[4]

On November 14, 2023, the Free Comic Book Day website announced that the first issue of Jonny Quest from Dynamite Entertainment would be released on May 4, 2024 for Free Comic Book Day. A preview cover image was also released.[1][2]
On March 19, 2024, official cover art by Chris Samnee was released, and it was announced that the series is written by Joe Casey with art by Sebastián Piriz. [5]
The first full issue was originally announced to be released in July 2024, ahead of San Diego Comic Con.[6] But in June or early July, the release date was pushed back to August 14, 2024.[3]
The first issue will have 26+ cover variations from 5 artists, including a $50 limited edition virgin (textless) cover,[7] and a $100 metal premium cover.[8]
