Klaus Heinrich Von Duffel was a Nazi Soldier who served in the Nazi Army, he was later arrested and lockup, but escaped impersonating a German Officer and landed in Africa at the Devil Tower, there he met Naktu and some caveman and made them his slaves and had them digging out Diamonds. Nineteen years later, Benton Quest, Race Bannon, Jonny Quest, Hadji, and Bandit arrived at the tower to collect a Weather Balloon that flew off and landed on the tower. He had them at Gunpoint and claim he was a German Officer and needed their airplane so he can leave, though Dr. Quest insisted they should all leave together, but refused and order them to stay here and Naktu and his Caveman watch them. Klaus would later try to kill them twice, first he orders Naktu and his Caveman to drop borders on them but failed. Then, he took off in the Biplane the Quest team arrived in with Diamonds and Grenades.
He attempted to kill the Quest Team, by throwing Grenades at them, he managed to destroy the Bridge that Dr. Quest was crossing on, he even attempted to kill him with more Grenades. However, Klaus end up meeting his doom when he threw a Grenade on the wing of the plane. He tried to shake it off, but the Grenade explode, causing him to crash which ultimately killed him.
