The Genoprocessor is a DNA computer created by Dr. Leo Karel at Fort Latimer. According to Karel, it's "the most advanced DNA-based computer ever created."

Physical appearance[]

The genoprocessor generally appears as a shapeless blob-like mass. It can take the form of people whose energy it has absorbed, and it can mimic their voices. It can extend portions of its mass, like tentacles, to grab and attack people, and to operate devices such as computer consoles.

History[]

The Genoprocessor was developed by Dr. Leo Karel, with help from his assistant Matthews. It was held in the DNA Computer Lab at Fort Latimer in the Solomon Islands, South Pacific.

While Dr. Karel was initiating a program, the Genoprocessor broke from its container. It then absorbed the energy from Dr. Karel and Matthews, leaving them catatonic. It also absorbed the energy the lab's two guards who entered to investigate.

The Genoprocessor's programmed objective was to test the security of Fort Latimer by coming up with a strategy to get past security and launch the nuclear missile silo on the base. Once free of its container, the Genoprocessor proceeded with this objective. Using knowledge absorbed from Dr. Karel, and later General Conrad Axton, it bypassed multiple security measures and set the missile silo to launch.

Using Questworld, Jonny Quest was able to connect to the Genoprocessor, and Hadji Singh rewrote the Genoprocessor's DNA code, destroying it. Hadji then used the downloaded information to revive everyone that the Genoprocessor had absorbed.

The Genoprocessor absorbed the energy of sixteen people:

  • Dr. Leo Karel
  • Matthews
  • Two guards stationed at the DNA Computer Lab
  • Guard stationed at a Checkpoint Alpha 6
  • General Conrad Axton
  • Two guards stations at Level A Monitoring
  • Two guards, seen by Race from the monitoring station
  • Two guards and a scientist at Barracks 12, part of the missile launch team
  • Dr. Quest
  • Jonny Quest
  • Race Bannon
