Notes/trivia[]

  • Originally, Jonny and Jessie were supposed to have known each other from when they were younger due to Dr. Quest and Dr. Bradshaw being old colleagues, and Jessie would've gone on to appear in several more episodes, but both plans were scrapped. However, the episode was retooled to be half the basis of the TV movie, Jonny's Golden Quest, where Jessie pretends to be the daughter of a scientist, hiding the fact she is really the daughter of Race and Jade. Race and Jade had got married at one point, but separated, with Jade keeping the knowledge from him. The idea of Race and Jade having got married was another idea that never made it into the 80s series. Unlike Jessie Bradshaw, Jessie Bannon succeeded in Hanna-Barbera's goal of introducing a girl into the team, as she appeared in the sequel movie, Jonny Quest Versus the Cyber Insects, and the TV series, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. It should be noted that in the second season of Real Adventures, Jessie is retconned to be the daughter of Race and Estella, as the writers didn't agree with the events of Golden Quest.
