: Hey, Race, where are we?
: We're still about 40 miles from your father's laboratory, Jonny.
: What is down there?
: No one really knows.
: No one's ever gone in before.
: Why?
Race: Well, there's a story the jungle is inhabited by tribes of hostile Indians.
: Who worship the airplane.
: The airplane?
: Yep. They've never seen a white man.
: I'll bet they're rough.
: [barking]
: Right, Bandit.
: Rough as they come.
: [screams]
: [screams]
: [growls]
: [intense music]
: What is it, Race?
: Engine trouble.
: We're going down.
: Pick a soft spot.
Race: I'll do my best, Hadji.
: Check your seatbelts.
: This may be rough.
: [barks]
: [engine sputtering]
Race: Brace yourselves.
: crash You kids okay?
: Yeah, I'm okay.
: How about you, Hadji?
: I am alright.
: [barking]
: We'll have to call for help.
: Uh-oh, the radio's dead.
Jonny: Are you sure?
: Yeah, it's dead, alright.
: We'll have to walk out.
Jonny: Boy, it looks like that plane's had it.
Race: That's for sure.
: Well, let's head for the river and follow it to the coast.
: [growling]
: [screaming]
: Someone's in trouble.
: Let's go.
: [growls]
: [screaming]
: [gunshot]
: [dramatic music]
: Bull's-eye, Race.
: Jonny, wait.
: But it's just a kid, we've got to untie him.
: Not till I'm sure that man-killing panther is dead.
: [gunshots]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Hey, I don't think he is a kid.
: He is very small.
: He is as tall as he'll ever be.
: He's a pygmy.
: Cut him loose, Jonny.
: Right.
: There you go.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: That must mean thank you.
: Take a look at the size of this panther that almost ate our friend.
: Boy, he's a big one.
: Look, Hadji, an..
: Hey, where did our friend go?
: He's gone.
: No, there he is.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Hey, come back. Hey!
: No use. He's gone.
: And we better do the same and fast.
: Whoever put that fellow out for cat food might come back.
: And we better not be here.
: I'm for that.
: Uh-oh!
: Freeze, boys, one move and they'll make pincushions out of us.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Sorry, pal, I don't understand a word you say.
: Okay, okay, I get your point.
: Shall we start walking?
: I don't like the looks of these little ones.
: What do you think they'll do to us, Race?
: I don't know, Jonny, but don't show any fear.
: [barks]
: Atta boy, Bandit. That'll show them we're not afraid.
: [growls]
: I'm sorry, Dr. Quest.
: But we will put every available aircraft to work on the search.
: Thank you, Senor Encino.
: Let's check that map.
: We've got trouble if they're down in pygmy country.
: Si, they are very dangerous.
: Well, if they are, let's hope Race and the boys are not in their hands.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: What's going on out there, Jonny?
Jonny: It looks like they're still praying to that model airplane.
: They've been doing that for hours.
: Can you see if the guards are still there?
: [intense music]
: Yeah, still there.
: Okay, get some rest.
: Whatever they're planning for us I guess, will wait till morning.
: I don't feel very sleepy.
: Neither do I.
: [barking]
: Neither does Bandit.
: Well, get some rest anyway.
: You may need your strength.
: Race, we got company, it's the headman himself.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Sounds like he's pronouncing a sentence on us.
: Ah, beat it!
: Yeah, don't make so much noise.
: We're tired and trying to get some sleep.
: [barking]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Boy, is he mad?
: Now, don't worry about it, fellows.
: We've been in tougher spots.
: We've gotten out of them.
: [dramatic music]
: [indistinct chatter]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: What if I don't want my hands tied?
: Oh! That's a pretty good answer.
: [engine revving]
: Sounds like an airplane.
: [indistinct chatter]
: Look, they're worshipping the airplane.
: Yeah, but it's too far away to see us.
: Hadji, can you still do that levitation trick you learned in India?
: I, I think so.
Race: Then, now is the time.
: But who?
: The headman there.
: It's been a long time, but I'll try.
: [chanting in foreign language]
: Look, Race, it's working!
: Quiet, Jonny, Hadji's got to concentrate.
: [chanting in foreign language]
: Aah!
: Good boy, Hadji.
: That should shake him up a bit.
: Jonny, grab their spears and start moving back toward the jungle.
Jonny: Right, Race.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [chanting in foreign language]
: I got 'em, Race.
: What now?
: Careful, Jonny.
: Ah!
: Huh!
: Uh-oh, I goofed.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Oh, me and my big feet!
: I-I'm sorry, Race, Hadji.
: We could have been long gone by now.
: Oh, that's okay, Jonny.
: It could have happened to anyone.
: What's next, Race?
: I don't know.
: [growls]
: Quiet, Bandit.
: What's the matter, boy?
: What is it?
: Race, Hadji, look!
: There is something moving over there.
: [growls]
: Bandit, quiet!
: Sit, boy!
: [intense music]
: W-what is it?
: Or who is it, Race?
: I don't know. Whoever it is, has a reason for hiding.
: Race, look!
: The spear that was pulled into the fire, it's burning.
: [growling]
Race: Quiet, boy!
: [music continues]
: Hold still, Hadji.
: He won't hurt you.
: It's our friend who was put out for cat food.
: Boy, he had me worried when I saw that knife.
: Hurry.
: That burning spear is gonna give one of those pygmies a hot foot.
: Right. Let's get out of here.
: Fast.
: [intense music]
: [screaming]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: He sounds very unhappy.
: I wish we could have stayed to see it.
: Save your breath and run, they'll be after us in a minute.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Everyone set?
: Ready, Race.
: Okay, here.
: I wish I knew how to thank our friend.
: Let's see. What was that he said when we helped him?
: [speaking in foreign language]
: I remember.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Hey, how about that?
: I speak their language.
: Where to now, Race?
: No place special, Hadji, just away from here.
: [intense music]
: We're gonna have to stop some place along here.
: Why, Race?
: The river current's too slow.
: The pygmies will be tracking us.
: At this rate, they'll cut us off.
: Hey, there's the spot I've been looking for up there on that hill.
: It's a natural for defense.
: If we can hold them off maybe we'll have a chance of being rescued.
: Come on, boys, let's go up and dig in.
: [intense music]
: Race, do you really think they'll track us?
: I'm sure of it, Jonny.
: Take a look down by the river, there is your answer.
: Gosh!
: It didn't take them long.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [sniffing]
: Look, they sniff the ground like dogs.
: They are the best trackers in the world, Hadji.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Well, that does it.
: They spotted us.
: Now we'll have to fight.
: Okay, let's give 'em a good one.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [intense music]
: [grunting]
: swoosh swoosh swoosh
: [rumbling]
: [music continues]
: [grunting]
: Here's one.
: Down the alley.
: [men screaming]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Boy, what a shot.
: You got the three, four, seven and eight pins with that one, Race.
: [clamoring]
: Wow, are they ever mad.
: [barking]
: [dramatic music]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: Here the come again.
: Duck.
: swoosh swoosh swoosh
: [clamoring]
: What now, Race?
: Another boulder?
: No. The log.
: Come on, boys. Push.
: [intense music]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: A strike!
: That ought to hold him for a while.
: Look. Over on the next hill.
: Yeah. They've got a clear shot from there.
: You watch down the hill.
: I'll take care of those babies.
: Right.
: [dramatic music]
: That should keep them quiet for a bit.
: Hey, Race, those guys on the hill are getting close.
: You keep throwing the rocks.
: I'll take care of them in a second.
: [music continues]
: [clamoring]
: swoosh swoosh swoosh Hurry, Race.
: Okay.
: I'm ready.
: Let her fly!
: bam bam crash What was that?
: A bang shot?
: Anymore around?
: Uh-oh.
: Company from the other side.
: [music continues]
: [clamoring]
: [screaming]
: swoosh swoosh swoosh
: [music continues]
: Hey! Where did that one come from?
: There. In the top of that tree.
Jonny: Boy. What a spot for a sniper.
: It's the headman.
: Race, in the tree!
: [grunting]
: Yeah. I see him.
: But it's a long shot.
: Hey! We're on your side, remember?
: [music continues]
: [screaming]
: Good shot, Race.
: It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
: Don't start cheering too soon.
: One good rush from both sides at once and we're in trouble.
: And here they come.
: [clamoring]
: [speaking in foreign language]
: How about that? They're running away. We scared 'em off.
: No. Listen, Jonny.
: [helicopter whirring]
: I hear it, Hadji. Helicopters.
: That's what chased our little friends off.
: But they're a long way off.
: They could miss seeing us.
: Yeah. You're right. If only we had something to signal with.
: Hadji, lend me that ruby of yours.
: You can have anything I have, but why my ruby?
: We're gonna try to attract their attention.
: [dramatic music]
: They see it.
: They are coming.
: [barking]
Race: Here's your Ruby, Hadji.
: Standby for rescue...I hope.
: [speaking in foreign language]
: [dramatic music]
: [screaming]
: [clamoring]
: [music continues]
: Well, that was an adventure, wasn't it?
: It sure was.
: Not one I'd like again.
: Right, boys?
: Agreed.
: Right.
: [barking]
: [laughing]
: Well, that makes it unanimous.
: Say, uh, why were you coming to see me anyway?
: I would've been back within days.
: Well, this came in the mail.
: It looked important.
Dr. Quest: Hmm. Yes, it does look important.
: Oh, no!
: Bad news, doctor?
: [laughs]
: Anything but, Race.
: It's a form letter from The African Geographical Society asking me if I would be interested in participating in a round-table discussion on the following subject.
: Are you ready?
: Fire away, doctor.
: Are pygmies warm and friendly people? Yes or no?
: Pygmies, friendly?
: [in unison]
: No!
: [barking]
: [laughing]
: I think I'll send all of you and let you argue the no side.
: You'll win hands down.
